Zoom into the area you want to erase.

Click the Erase Touch-up Tool and on the horizontal toolbar, set the brush size appropriate to the area you want to work on.
Click and drag to erase pixels, exposing more of the background area.

To increase or decrease the opacity of the erased areas, adjust the Hardness setting (located on the horizontal toolbar).
Higher values will result in more pixels being erased, producing a harder, more defined edge.

Lower values will produce a softer, more blended edge.
