Bridge Center is missing from Adobe Bridge 1.0.x (Windows)
Issue
The Bridge Center is missing from Adobe Bridge 1.0.x
Solution: Add the Creative Suite information to a new AdobeESDGlobalApps.xml file.
Note: Some of these tasks in the solution require you to locate hidden files or folders, or to locate files by their extensions (for example, *.exe). By default, Windows Explorer does not show hidden files, hidden folders, and filename extensions it recognizes.
To show hidden files, hidden folders, and all filename extensions in Windows Explorer:
1. In Windows Explorer, choose Tools > Folder Options.
2. Click the View tab in the Options dialog box.
3. Select Show Hidden Files And Folders.
4. Deselect Hide File Extensions For Known File Types.
5. Click OK.
To add the Creative Suite information to a new AdobeESDGlobalApps.xml file:
1. Delete the AdobeESDGlobalApps.xml file located in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Updater folder.
2. Start any Adobe CS2 application to create a new AdobeESDGlobalApps.xml file (a new file is created in the same folder listed in Step 1).
3. Open the AdobeESDGlobalApps.xml file in WordPad.
4. Add the following information to the file directly above the last line in the file which reads"</AdobeUpdaterRegistrationManager>". Include all brackets when entering the information.
5. Save the file in the same location in text only format, retaining the original name including the .xml extension.
6. Start Bridge and immediately click Control+Alt+Shift to bring up the Reset Settings dialog box.
Note: If Bridge opens and you do not see the Reset Settings dialog box, repeat step 6.
7. Choose Reset Preferences in the Reset Settings dialog box, and click OK.
Background information
If the Creative Suite entry is missing from the AdobeESDGlobalApps.xml file, then the Bridge Center is not available in Adobe Bridge.
