Introduction
The Avantra software supports a true value of zero for an interpage gap between file leading. However, if the setting is set to zero, the file will frequently have part of the job clipped. The physical accuracy of the leading system cannot go to zero.
The software will not be changed to a default value.

When to Perform this Procedure
The interpage gap should be set at installation for both online and offline systems, and then the customer can vary it according to his or her applications.

Warnings/Cautions
All engines should first be calibrated for short and long feeds per CSB-TECH-152.
For new generation RIPs, i.e., Taipan 2.0 (and higher) and Viper 3.0 (and higher), the "Image Position.EDF" is used to control the interpage spacing on the Avantra which overrides the Engine OCP settings.
Currently, the interpage gap is set as follows by Avantra model:
Avantra 25 Family - The imagesetter uses the interpage gap value on the OCP in all conditions except with an online processor with punches turned on then the default is .80 inches.
Avantra 30 Family - Same as Avantra 25 Family.
Avantra 44 Family - The imagesetter uses the interpage gap value on the OCP in all conditions.

Procedure
The interpage gap is recommended to be .5 inches for online systems and .25 inches for offline systems per the OCP screen. Depending on the physical accuracy of a specific system, these numbers could be decreased accordingly.
