Я человек простой, в смартах не разбираюсь... Обычно запускаю тест поверхности диска и если график ровно-убывающий и без сильных провалов по времени чтения, то все ок.
 
Ну как было по нулям нестабильных секторов и невосстанвимых ошибок, так и осталось :) Форматирование само по себе ничего не выявит, нужно тест чтение-запись всей поверхности прогнать, после посмотреть где провалы и насколько большие и не изменилось ли что в смарте. Повторно прогнать те участки где были большие провалы, если картина повторяется, вероятность что скоро будут кандидаты на замену возрастает.

Абсолютно неинформативный показатель ИМХО
Информативный, просто его читать надо уметь.
Там 2 первых байта одно кажут, а 4 других другое, а вместе, да приведённые к инту — ужосужос.
 
Я к тому, что сам по себе параметр смысл имеет, но судить по нему о здравии диска сложно. Как если записать в одну ячейку рост и вес. Смысл есть, но о здравии само по себе это говорит мало.
 
Да я бы прогнал его фирменной утилитой и пользовался под временные данные.
У меня такой внешний 500 WD в корпусе от зонтичного Prestigio.
Умершие порядка 85 МБт.
Помеченые запретом от записи.
Как медиа хранилище к приставке под сериальчики.
 
Жмутся все, экономят '))' но вообще-то накаркали гады у меня вот тоже сегодня комп пару раз завис наглухо. Наверное старенький ссд под кэш сдыхает.

Жаль винт :( под офлайн хранилище восстановимой информации (то, что можно скачать из интернета например) максимум. Хотя и не понятно с чего вдруг он начал сыпаться....

А какая у него история? Работал до последнего времени или лежал год на полке? В чем работал?
