Dear Publisher,
Based on the latest experience on iOS 5, where Apple is allowing users running legacy iOS builds to download older versions of apps, we are providing some guidance to help you better determine how to support your iOS5 customers.
If you have a V26 or lower application in the App Store, your customers on iOS5 and iOS6 will be supported, but not your iOS7 customers.
If your application is a V27 application, then your iOS 5,6, and 7 customers will be supported.
If you wish to deploy a V28 application to take advantage of the new DPS features and the iOS7 look and feel, and you wish to continue supporting your iOS5 users, you MUST have a V27 or lower application publicly available in the App Store before submitting your V28 application. Readers on iOS5 will download the V27 (or older) version of your application, and readers on iOS6 and 7 will download the V28 version of your application.
It is important to remember that the folio version of your content must match the lowest application version you have in the App Store. Thus if you have a V27 & V28 application in the App Store, as the above paragraph suggests, your folio version must be V27.
